Welcome to DIFF 2016
Welcome to the 10th annual Dallas International Film Festival, a production of the Dallas Film Society.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Festival. While we’ve continued to evolve as a Festival through the years, our primary mission remains the same: to support the magic of film as an art form by bringing a diverse program of poignant and thought-provoking films to Dallas, honoring filmmakers worldwide, and promoting our own local filmmakers on an international stage.
Dallas International Film festival is sponsored in part by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs
As we celebrate a decade of bringing quality independent films from around the world to Dallas, it’s exciting to look back on how far we’ve come.
In only nine years, the Dallas International Film Festival has screened more than 1,680 movies, awarded more than $740,000 in cash/pro-bono prizes, received more than 11,100 film submissions, and hosted more than 1,500 filmmakers.
North Texas filmmakers and the local film community continue to grow exponentially, producing inspirational and entertaining works, and capturing the attention and respect of the international cinematic community. We can’t wait to see what the next ten years will bring as the Dallas film community continues to flourish.
We give endless thanks to our hardworking team of DIFF volunteers, our Board of Directors, Festival committees and juries, and our dedicated Festival staff. Without the enthusiastic commitment of all involved this, 11-day celebration, featuring over 150 film screenings and several in-depth panels, would simply not be possible.
We are also immensely grateful for the philanthropic spirit of our sponsors, donors and Dallas Film Society members. Your generosity directly benefits the artistic enrichment of Dallas, Texas and beyond.
And of course we must thank the filmmakers, those passionate individuals who work tirelessly to channel their creativity into films that inspire, excite, unnerve and amaze.
We welcome you all, and we look forward to seeing you at this year’s special 10th Anniversary celebration of the Dallas International Film Festival.
